Wash and Repeat
My year without shopping lasted from June 2010 to June 2011. While it was ultimately a personal challenge to fully utilize my wardrobe, it turned into a year of life lessons. Here are a few:
- Taking daily photos of myself is not my fave. Let’s be honest, it was kind of a chore and just wasn’t my style.
- I don’t have to spend money everytime I walk into a store. I used to be the kind of girl that had to spend $30 everytime I walked into CVS or Target, let alone the mall. I’m proud to say that now I can walk in with a shopping list and stick to it.
- Buy clothes that you love and are flattering, not just because they’re on clearance. 90% of my current wardrobe was bought on the sale racks. While there’s nothing wrong with that, the problem comes in when you only buy it cause it’s on sale.
